This large elegant platter is made up of a single extra-wide reclaimed wine barrel stave formed into a graceful upturned platter on a stand. The stand is a single reversed shorter barrel stave.
You can use this unique item to serve anything, but our customers told us they use it as a sushi platter or use it as fruit bowl. Put some pillar candles on it and you have a candelabra.
Finished in a food-safe tung oil, this elegant bowl will grace any table or sideboard.
I have preserved the character of the wood. With a graceful upward curve, the top of the bowl is coloured a deep purple from the red wine that the barrel held for years, and the bottom shows the greyish age of the outside of the barrel with bands created by the metal barrel hoops. The foot is a smaller stave with a reverse curve.
Overall size is approximately 36 inches long by 4 inches wide by 7 inches high. Every piece is unique based on the barrels staves used so all sizes are approximate. This item is also available as wider bowls 18, 24 and 18 inches long.
This is an excellent give for yourself or any wine or sushi enthusiast.
